SSIP (Safety Systems in Procurement)
Many major clients such as Councils, Principal Contractors (PC’s) and Larger Corporates now require Contractors to undergo pre-qualification to determine their suitability to tender as part of their “Approved Supplier Procedures”.
The pre-qualification process can be greatly reduced if a business is accredited to an SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) scheme such as Safe Contractor (Alcumus), CHAS, SMAS or Constructionline (Acclaim) although many clients such as PC’s and LA’s (Local Authorities / Councils) may require additional information on their own web based portals or PQQ’s (Pre-Qualification Questionnaires).

Achilles UVDB

individual buyer users from over 80 organisations. Reduce your overheads by completing and maintaining a single pre-qualification questionnaire and where applicable, an assessment, for key players in the utilities industry.
Suppliers assessed as having a high risk profile may be required to undertake an audit of their company’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality capabilities. There are different audit levels and the category depends on a number of factors including the nature of the products or services being offered, company turnover and the number of employees.

Achilles Building Confidence is not just another tick-box exercise but a rigorous accreditation process that delivers a number of benefits to its supplier members. The majority of suppliers who subscribe to Achilles Building Confidence will undergo a rigorous audit to assess their capability, competence and compliance in line with the relevant audit protocol. The purpose of the audit is to validate your prequalification questionnaire face-to-face with an auditor at your premises, and identify areas for business improvement and risk reduction.
